BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES This position serves as the General Manager of the Navy Gateway Inns & Suites located at NAF El Centro. The General Manager directs and supervises all functions related to operating a hotel to include Front Desk Services, Guest Registration, Housekeeping Services, Facility Maintenance, Inventory Management and Control, Personnel Management and Training and Financial Performance.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
- A Bachelor’s degree in Business or Hotel Management or related field, or have equivalent work experience.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a supervisory position in hotel operation, with at least 2 years of management or supervisory experience as a first level supervisor
- Comprehensive knowledge of the hospitality and hotel industry, administrative practices and procedures related to operating a hotel.
- Effective written and oral communication skills enabling effective communication with higher rank civilian and military officials.
- Possess computer skills to include word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, and property management programs.
- Must possess and maintain a current driver’s license
- Must meet Federal Employment suitability requirements and successful completion of background investigation. Background Investigations are conducted using fingerprint identification and completion of background inquiry forms
