Life Skills
Many of our Fleet & Family Support Center (FFSC) staff are military veterans or spouses who understand the unique challenges, stresses, and rewards of military life. Through one-on-one consultations and workshops, we help Sailors and families prepare, cope, and thrive in every stage of their journey.
Parenting & Family Support
FFSC offers guidance and education to help families strengthen communication, build healthy routines, and navigate the demands of military life. Support includes:
- Active Duty Pregnancy resources
- Effective parenting strategies
- Child care options and referrals
- Parenting tips for all ages and stages
Additional Life Skills Services
Workshops and consultations are available to help individuals and families build resilience, manage stress, and stay connected. Topics include:
- Anger and stress management
- LGBT support groups
- Life After the Uniform (for military spouses transitioning to civilian life)
- Long-distance communication and relationship skills
- Navy Spouse 101 (for new military spouses)
- Organization and time-management skills
- Space-A travel basics
- Volunteering opportunities and community engagement
